Imagine -

A pitch-black night
and in it a quaint little star
heaving its last dying breath
all choked up with a
solitary sorrow and yet
aglow with a
pretentious smile

aloof in a vast nothingness
alone and yet all cluttered up
crowded by so many
and yet understood by so few
for none have ever known
the wound which lies
hidden cleverly beneath
the soft pale moonlight
and none have ever noticed
the anguish written clear
in his drenched dreamy eyes

And often when all of you
just vanish away leaving me all
I feel akin to that quaint lonesome star
A passerby
A distant observer
and no more

to this world asleep
in a pained slumber
