Apr 2013
slowly unfolding my arms,
you planted seeds in the spaces of my ribs
knowing i would let them grow in time.
you saw every potential for compassion i ever hid
deep down in the bottoms of my bones.

now,
all these seasons later in the dead of winter
we can laugh as the petals
brush up against my heart,
a constant reminder
