Though I want to be ash
don't burn me alive
I can't take it a second time
to see the crowd
with their buckets of water
watching in awe
as I, the dry kindling
light up
as I, the roaring flames
scream
as I, the intense heat
evaporate the water
they had with them
to put me out
when my burning was done
