Depression.
Mirrors are the first casualty
of depression. They are the
stage where we perform
daily to an audience of one.
EGO meets ID for the A.M.
dress rehearsal which will
be repeated to the same
spectator throughout the day.
But darkness descends, the
curtain comes down and a
cancellation sign is written
in steam from the last shave.
Time for the foetal position.
"Stubble growth in progress
Please do not disturb
Hibernation has commenced".
The cat napping begins, in
and out of the disturbed
consciousness, wishing for
a permanent anaesthesia.
Time is measured by peaks
and troughs of traffic, with
the occasional punctuation
of mail dropping in the hall.
******* bin removal marks
the week, perspiration and
***** smells are the first sign
of one's final recovery.
