this is a little poem
with not a whole lot to it
before you know it's up and done
quits before it blows it

moves about along its way
haphazard merrily
there's not a lot it has to say
in desperate need of no upkeep

this is a little poem
in need of no one else
generally gets along
happily all by itself

although it's new to the scene
it doesn't waste much time
it's not here to dive in deep
it's not here to wine and dine

this is a little poem
to some, it's known as the peep squeak
one line at a time is how it rolls
one roll of the drum is how it beats

with packed bags at the ready
always ready to make its leave
this little poem
here and gone in a blink
