the people in congress
say that they're for us
but honesty bleeds
short on memory

here to help us they tell us
while they up and sell us
play us for fools
knee-deep in their greed

then there's the senate
right smake dab in it
pants on fire liers
without skipping a beat

here to undo you
it's just what they do
power that leads to
a game played for keeps

there's a call for our government
and they need to answer it
from you and me
to leave us be
