You feel this collapse
You fear the crushing
Your bones the frightened leap
too late
Already in the lion's mouth
His implacable need to eat
Doesn't know who you are
Doesn't know you think you're more important Than lunch
Doesn't know about your love
of children

You feed yourself to him
unquietly
What's you wonder
Will he accomplish
With you in him
Thinking you are
More then lunch
Is the error you made
You might even be
talking dinner
