Green foliage aloft in the air ...
this heart would melt as macaws did sing!
   Waters tumbled from heavens above
where no measure of beauty would echo through spring!
      Now aflame; blame is played
in political gain ... what will remain?
      Now aflame; claims are made
in heartless words ... what will be heard?

Rivers of soul adrift with our time ...
this heart did dream of tomorrows change!
Howlers could swing in cacao’s sweetness
where toucans did rest in a harmony of age!
      Now aflame; her receding lines
awake in our eyes ... who will try?
      Now aflame; wasted on man
in self preservation ... who will ration?

Beautiful hearts afloat in the dew ...
this heart still yearns for the amazon sights!
Babassus would rise in sunlit mist
where the soul of the earth gave life to the light!
      Now aflame; waiting on change
through ash filled tears ... who will clear?
      Now aflame; breathing futures
will narrow with chimes ... the fallen will remind!
About the the appealing amazon rainforest fires!
