Slipping my hand away
from her soft shoulder
with an eviscerating stare
she used her tongue
as she flayed and filleted me
cutting sinew, bone, flesh
all my feelings alike
words slicing through
splitting my dry carcass
bursting open my soft heart
spilling sweet love’s blood
on the cold sawdust floor
