Walking away
You left love behind
Faded dark into the night
No fire or warmth within your soul
Only cold dark days alone
A choice you made to save yourself
Ignored the pleads of those you left
Never looked back at where you've been
Drifting forward trying to be unseen
Days shorter as life's winter moves in
Their facets of memory fade away
His family just couldn't take
The fact my friend is gay
