I'm stepping off this highway
That so many today are on
The shape it's in has about done me in
I need a higher road

One without so many potholes
And blind curves along the way
One where I can take my time
And say what I want to say

Without some passerby
Going into a rage
They need to stop over what others have got
And stay in their own lanes

With no heed or no warning
They keep changing up the signs
It's so hard to know which way to go
Which only adds to life's hefty fines

So I'm stepping off this highway
That leads to whoever knows
Cause the shape it's in has about done me in
And I'm in need of a higher road
