We watch on television as Our Lady, The Notre Dame
Becomes totally engulfed in searing hot flames

Mourning the loss of a building 850 years old
Recalling stories and tales once told
Of times we visited and paid our respects
Rejoicing in the glorious paintings within and the beauty of its outstanding Gothic architect

Dear to the heart of the people of Paris
The core of the building will be truly missed

Clear the rubble and the embers,
Give thanks for the work of the Pompiers, no one lost their life, remember
Secure the structure, save any Art that can be found
And hope the Parisiens can turn this around

Pray In time The Notre Dame will rise once again
As it nestles in its island on the River Seine
Sad evening tonight to see The Notre Dame in flames, one Fireman injured but no lives lost.

I wrote this Poem, thinking of the times I've been,  last time I attended with Keith my Mum and Dad. It was a wonderful break, Notre Dame was extremely busy, we sat outside for some time just basking in its beauty and just pleased to be there in its presence. Dad couldn't walk too well, so it wasn't possible to go in.

I hope it resonates with someone.

Our thoughts are with you Paris #notredameinflames
