A poor boy dreams of being rich,
A rich boy dreams of being poor,
It’s the same city in which they live,
Except, one does not have a home,
The poor boy has nothing to give,
The rich boy has nothing to show,
The poor boy wishes to be him,
The rich boy would trade him souls,
Money has no value;
Yet the poor boy doesn’t know,
He’s got dreams of living lavish,
He’d do anything to have it,
Even if it meant doing black magic,
He’d give away his soul for gold,
fancy cars and fancy clothes,
Just to feel he’s something more,
than canned beans and spare change,
the rich boy feels a different pain,
his sunny days are filled with rain,
he wishes he could run away,
to an isolated distant place,
where he can peacefully meditate,
the poor boy met the rich boy,
they both sat near a lake,
the rich boy asked what was his name,
the poor boy quietly said, “Martin.”
he said “nice to meet you I’m James.”
the poor boy asked,
“What are you doing out so late?”
James replied,
“This is where I come to escape.”
the poor boy asked,
“Escape from who or what?”
the rich boy replied,
“A life in which I grew up without love”
the poor boy astonished asked,
“Love? Your problem is LOVE?!”
He then continues,
“I wish my only problem was love, if I was in your shoes I’d buy love, lots of ‘LOVE!”
The rich boy then replies,
“here take my wallet, find a place and buy love for the both of us”
The poor boy said,
“You’re giving me a wallet with 5 hundred dollars? I can buy more than just love.”
The rich boy replied,
“You can have that and more if you find a place where love is sold.”
The poor boy replied,
“I can’t believe you’d give me all this money in exchange for love.”
The rich boy then said,
“take it all, keep it, it’s yours.”
The poor boy thanked him and left.
He first bought himself a pair of shoes,
then some clothes, after he ate fancy food,
he later bought a bike & went for a cruise,
In his eyes he had it all,
Until the bike got stolen and the money he had he wasted it all,
He went to look for the rich boy,
and found him in the same spot,
The rich boy asked him,
“Were you able to buy us love?”
The poor boy replied,
“No, it wasn’t enough what you gave me I found it but i need more money.”
The rich boy responded,
“How much more money?”
The poor boy replied instantly,
“5 hundred dollars more”
The rich boy said,
“Here’s another $500 come back when you have love for us both.”
He once again spent it on useless items,
a fishing pole and a wooden fishing boat,
the fishing pole broke and the boat disappeared when he woke,
he once again had no money,
he found the rich kid in the same spot,
this time the poor boy said,
“I tried to buy us both love but it wasn’t enough money again”
The rich boy then replied in aw,
“It wasn’t enough money again because love is priceless, it cannot be bought.”
The poor boy responded,
“then explain why rich people on T.V are always happy and have love.”
The rich boy replied,
“Martin, happiness comes from within and love is free. No money in the world can buy you those 2 things.. if all your life you go searching for love with a dollar in your hand, all you will find is materialistic items that do not last.”

The rich boy continued,
“You’re poor because you see it that way, sit here and stare at the lake. Nature is love, the sky is love, the stars are love, the air is love, friendship is love, family is love, love is everywhere and it’s free. You’re not poor, you’re blessed. Blessed to be alive and breathing. As long as you’re alive there is opportunity to find love not buy love.”

The poor boy was never poor, he was rich this entire time. All he needed was love.
