May 2019
It emerges from behind
Reigning over the lights
I see a devil smirk, half illuminated and flushed with shadow for another the another side
I goad back at it
My anger witnesses no shriek
Who has laid me down
Teethering to a pedestal unknown
My pedestal on any butter slides
I, obstinate, pluck the prompts out
I'm standing even now
This time it's my feet and not your arms
