You are not your name.
Nor your weight or your height.
Your age can’t hold you back.
You cannot be defined.

Beneath it all
Deep in your heart
That is what defines
Who you really are.

The choices you make
The chances you take
The words you speak
The things you say

The way you dance
Like no one’s there.
The songs you sing
When no one cares.

Thoughts in your mind
Love in your heart
The sparkle in your eye
And the way you laugh.

The tears you cry
When no one knows.
The sadness you feel
When you’re all alone.

The mistakes you’ve made
The lessons you’ve learnt
The stories you’ve read
And what you’ve written.

The dimples in your cheeks.
The freckles on your nose.
The way you always blush
While smiling at the ground.

The adventures you had
And those to come.
The made-up songs
You tend to hum.

Your sleepy little snores.
The snorts in your laugh.
Every flaw that you possess
Makes you different than the rest.
Words can't define you.
