Feb 2013
the room with the
big oak table
is filled with windows
& she always keeps them
open to borrow a
breeze
from the warm countryside

the house always smells like
a summer rain
& he always kisses her
neck
when she sits on the
kitchen counter

the music is always
just low enough
to quietly swell the love she keeps
deep within her
bones

oh
he makes her feel
like home

where the city can't
cast enough
color

& the stars aren't so
alone
