You visited me in my dreams last night
Teary-eyed
When our glances met
Face-to-face with an ex
I told you I didn’t want to hurt you anymore
Even though I am sure
You are the one who caused me pain
Anyway...
You held me in your embrace
A place
I used to know so well
and I could tell
The passion between us was about to burst
But first
You cupped your hand to my face
So close to yours, I could taste
The sweetness on your tongue
I used to never be able to get enough
Our lips so close
Tugging on my clothes
And abruptly I awoke

Only to find I am still alone.
