Through the sleepy eyes
Of an average man
Devised to rule
With a heavy hand

Built an army
Of men with dreams
That formed a bond
Through camaraderie

We won the war
Of transparency
But at what cost
Was bloodshed freed

The rich, the poor
The in-between
Hold up dollar signs
And salivate with greed

To watch it grow
What was once a seed
And harvest crops
With ingenuity

Reaping the rewards
From the fallen trees
We mustn’t take for granted
The clean air that we breathe

With a healthy winning attitude
And prosperity achieved
Now you and I can carry on
Chasing after dreams
