I love you
And it’s clear to the naked eye
You know that I do
But the question is why
If my lady knew
She’d probably die
Your guy would go crazy
Girl that’s no lie

Although we’re not out
To hurt anyone
And it’s not just a matter
Of us having fun
I get the feeling
We’re under the gun
And we need to get out
Before damage is done

Don’t get me wrong
I don’t mean to imply
That it’s gonna be easy
For you or I
I’m just suggesting
That we need to try
To create some distance
As an alibi

So let me be
The very first one
To openly admit
It’s easier said than done
I’m prepared to bite the bullet
If ever it comes
And I’m not just here
Flapping my gums
