Summer
An unknown, yet familiar place
A desolate town, full of regret
I wander these halls but there's no trace
No sound, no smell, no light, no space
Suddenly, I feel again
The warm wind blowing in my hair
The scent of flowers filling my lungs
The sound of cicadas swarming my heart
But it matters not
For I am here, safe in your arms
A moment that will last for eternity
The summer of my life.
03/13/2018 - For Nick, the love of my life.
