Did you spot the king of hearts?
Or a queen pushed out the deck,
wrangled up onto his neck,
paying life's mistake within his debt.
Did you see the king with optimism?
Or a queen for his conviction,
sending surgeries in her eviction,
and a set of lilies in prescriptions.
Did you notice her own absence?
Coming upon a night she left,
with nothing more than a theft,
to steal the king's last peaceful breath.
No it wasn't death,
nor a killing of any kind,
just a ****** to his mind,
locked in a tighter, darker bind.
He doesn't have one secret,
and if he did, would he keep it?
It wouldn't be quite convenient,
to trick his knights for fake treatments-
