I trust in God and myself
To keep me safe and sound
Nothing else do I count on
To keep me unbound

In order to ensure
That something is done my way
I had best do it myself
Or nothing should I say

If it is at all important
And means everything to me
I’m the one responsible
To make sure that it’s achieved

So many of us expect
To get something for free
I believe everything should be worked for
And not just handed right to me
