If you'd ask why I didn't choose you
My tongue curls up to say
That you were the dream
and she was the reality

I've slept far too longer
denying every truth
that the heart needs to wake up
knowing it will never be you

You were the happy thought
at the back of my brain
kept lock inside
being scared that things might change

But I found the weapon
to end all of our suffering
no deadly blades or guns
but only a tongue
having the courage to say
"i'm letting go"
silver
