Tangoing with my shadow
Here,
by the sea
I've wandered
looking around
for a place to lie down
and when it is morning
I'll drive a stake in the ground
or maybe a cross to mark the spot
where my grave can be found
by the sea
the beach where I tango
with my shadow
like a prisoner singing
along with the tide
leaving salty pools
in the lines of my eyes
perhaps this is my crime
half-living, half-dreaming
Here,
by the sea
doing my time.
