Cold air bites and nips
At my bare fingers
Big soft flakes of the first snow
Land on my face
I look into the sky
Flooded with endless amounts
Of falling flakes
Swirling
And dancing
Until they reach the ground
And melt to water
I surprise myself
When I giggle
And shake the snow from my hair
Treading on down the wet sidewalk
My feet numb
My coat bound tight
Maybe this year I'll give snow
A chance
