You may know my heart
I will allow you that
Memorize it's rhythm
Feel the pulse shift
With injury and healing
Open my chest 1000 times
If you would like
Study the chambers
Sleep in my ribcage
And make a bed
Within my hollows
But you will always
Remain a visitor
A renter, a guest
A tourist on a time limit
You may know my heart
But it will never be yours.
