Tears sting
like salt water in cuts
or jellyfish tentacles,
like Indian Burns
and peroxide in day old wounds

Tears sting
as they rolled down tender skin
like Marbles in gutters
they’ve stung their way down before
they've eroded the skin away like drops of acid
like sand spurs rolling down my face
