I don’t deserve to be with you
Like a broken statue doesn’t serve to be
In the home of some prestigious collector
Like the work of some amateur doesn’t
Belong beside the Mona Lisa
Like cheap tarnished tin doesn’t belong
With shining gold and rubies

But the thing is,
No one else sees it
Because you’re not
A shining jewel
A priceless painting
Or some beautiful sculpture
You’re a misfit
A diamond in the rough
Unpolished ore
A da Vinci hidden under paint
Something of beautiful worth
That no one yet knows about
