You’re the light that made the thunder
A sight of naked wonder
The hiccup in my lifeline struck by fire
In my mind we've been edited together
In my dreams airbrushed to look better
An Oscar winning moment of desire

I'm the Harley on the highway
You are Frank Sinatra’s ‘My Way’
That point in Casablanca Sam starts singing
You are Vader’s end in Star Wars
I'm that Doberman of Bilko’s
We are Woody Allen’s Hannah AND her Sisters

You’re Madonna sung by Ringo
I am Rocky when the bell goes
We are Thelma and Louise going off that cliff
You’re Electra Glide in Blue
Marilyn and Betty Boop
I'm the Raging Bull of passion with a kiss

But in all these moments screened forever
I begin to wonder whether
Real life is waiting in the wings
As our names in lights start fading
The gold leaf flaked and jaded
Am I me and only me, the Man who would be King?
