Tonight I’ll pray like it’s my last
On hands and knees I’ll prostrate fast
While the walls watch me turn blue
While the walls watch me turn blue
Tonight I’ll weep a fountain rain
A swamp to wade in for the vain
While the walls watch me turn blue
While the walls watch me turn blue
Tonight the cosmic thoughts will come
Of twirling tides and dreams undone
But the walls won’t see them
But the walls won’t see them
Tonight I’ll dream of radiance empty
While in my dream-well they’ll throw pennies
But the walls won’t see it
But they’ll never believe it
Tonight I’ll be the pin cushion
Of a thousand strays and hues
While the walls watch me turn blue
While the walls watch me turn blue
Tonight I’ll love the somber alien
He twists in shades of bark and nail
While the walls watch me turn blue
While the walls watch me turn blue
Tonight the paint it shakes and cracks
Like the spine on delicate backs
Which hover in the night so blind
And for the moment, you are divine
Tonight I’ll dig for pale jewels
Underground in heaven
While the walls watch me turn blue
