I want the reflection from me
To be of the life lived by you
There is no reason to pretend
My scars are all that are true

If life has been good for me
It means I'm a lucky man
There’s no reason to pretend
My own life is in God’s hand

There’s no reason to pretend
Sometimes I try to fool myself
I don’t want to fool anybody else
Why would I do that to a friend

When I think about the way
You live your life each day
I want you to see it in me
I can only live life my way
I hope that when you pray
You pray for a life with me

There’s no reason to pretend
There’s no reason to lose a friend
There’s no reason to pretend
There’s no reason to pretend
