The faithful way
we grow older every day
the subtle way
the rain brings a consistent sway

a swift change
in our fast paced way

the unlocked door to a cage
we never knew we wandered into
on our own

so now my mind and heart
independently roam
the streets
searching for something to own
to possess
they remain at an unrest
simply scouting these streets
until we manage to look up
from out own feet
and find all we need
existing, searching with us

the unexplainable way
the rain reminds us
to slow down
I find her eyes concentrated on the ground
waiting for the time she lays her worried mind to rest
finds all she needs
by letting her soul take the lead
