I remember every detail laid out here
The sheets
The feeling
The smell
His voice coaxing
Telling us what to do
You don't remember a thing
How old even were you
I was younger by two years
He was my greatest safety
His betrayal my greatest fear
I remember
Why do I have to remember
You get to forget
Your brain builds defenses
One after another
The memories come flooding together
Stop them
Help me
Erase me please
I don't want to remember
I'll trade you
You can have words
I'll take the numbers
Just keep the memories
I'll take the numbness
