May 2012
Sifting through the sea of eternity
Watching as my sanity dies
Life is just bereft to me
The water never lies.

Seeing creatures come and go
Wishing I could play
Sitting here, I sadly know
That they cannot stay.

They swim up to me
And let me pet their heads
As they swim away
I see them heading to their beds.

Sitting alone on this rock
In a sea of waves
Knowing the others mock
Calling me a knave.

I know I don't belong
With the other ones
So I'll just sing my song
And wait upon the sun.
