To him life was one great big party
He lived it like Bobby Brown
Though he wasn’t the king of R&B;
He became the talk of the town
He married a girl much like Whitney
Who earned above his means
It was a shame and a pity
How he’d put on all kinds of scenes

Life can be a revelation
Especially when it crushes your dreams
And some people seek salvation
Through necessity or by any means

He was caught up in the world-wind
The glamour and glitz proved too much
For her it came to a real end
When the drugs had ‘em both out of touch
The combination proved to be lethal
Between love and the need for a drug
It can happen to certain people
Who probably could use a strong hug

Life can be a revelation
Especially when it crushes your dreams
And some people seek salvation
Through necessity or by any means

If this is sounding cautionary
Maybe that’s because it is
A warning that’s a little scary
Kinda makes you say gee ****
Life can be a revelation
Especially when it crushes your dreams
And some people seek salvation
Through necessity or by any means

If you’re lookin’ for a happy ending
It’s not gonna happen here
Because the message I’m sending
Is meant to cause sadness or fear
She had a tragic ending
And he went on his merry way
What would be the use of pretending
Cos she isn’t here today

Life can be a revelation
Especially when it crushes your dreams
And some people seek salvation
Through necessity or by any means
