the stars watch in excited wait
they know my face and my name
they wait for me to return

they light the winding path
they lead me into the forest
the stars always look out for their own

i feel everything that touches me
and i want to touch everything
the sky of silver
the whisper of petals
the dampness of the earth

i feel limp and dry
i am dead grass in a clearing
no one knows me
i am buried only by the snow

i feel stiff
i am flourishing leaves
polished by starlight
stargazing through drowsy eyes

i feel loved
i am subtle diffused light
cedar tree pines tickle my shoulders
spirits of flowers lie at rest under my feet

my fingers run through brown vines
the breeze runs through brown hair
i am home and i breathe
i have been gone for so long

there is nothing about me that isnt forest and sky
take me there
