THE NEW BOY IN TOWN

I happened to ask while on my rounds

A friend about his wife,

And the baby boy that she delivered last week…

The boy a loving product of married life,

A closeness that all of us seek.

I asked him how did his older daughter fare

With a new baby brother in tow,

The father admitted some jealousy there…

As dynamics in families go.

His older sister won’t let him be held

By HER DADDY if she’s in the room,

Mom and Daddy love her very much…

Someday we trust she’ll come round to see

The new boy needs an older sister’s touch.
