In my heart is an ache
for a place that I belong
out where the Desert's lake
meets a lonesome sunset sky

Her waters deep they flow
here deep inside my soul
where her beauty shines upon the sand
to the mountains that reach up high

Her Spirit's dance to take my hand
where the River's come rushing by
from tears she has caught falling
that she has often watched me cry

And through the wind I hear her calling
the echoes of her sweet undying song
where my love for her will never die
