she drowns in her minds silent waters
cursed to taste the bitterness
of the blackened veil

                                    ding
an ebony shroud of dismay
looking through sightless eyes while
gingerly laying her bones in the dirt
the blackened petals sleep

beneath

her brutal heart forever locked in sorrow
cursing the day draped in shadows
lamenting nighttime serenades
as the pointed finger accusations
give way to her taunted reflection

dancing in her shaded asylum

driven mad by the long-winded dreams
embracing the suffering of her chains
alas
*there is a slight malice in her touch
