The sickness at first was sorrow to me
You could not come with me, the way you feel
Now I can see why this thing had to be
Your absence simply made the lesson real

If I feel this way apart for a day
How would existence be without you ever?
If I continue on in this same way
Will I be with you, on and on, forever?

Now I must look at things within my life
To see what changes need to come about
Love is being with my lovely wife
Eternity would be hell without

Repentance; not only for my own soul
But together forever is my goal
