Red is for the color of your fair skin,

Against the fiery touch of the wind,

Red is for the fire that grew in us,

Before I burnt our lovely lives to dust.

Orange is for the oldest autumn leaf,

Wrapped but not what it used to be,

Orange is for all the future sunsets,

The beauty, the glory we will miss.

What I would give to turn, turn back these frozen clocks,

And run far away, to yearn for something we have lost.

I can remember moments like you wouldn't know

It was before I stole all the colors of the rainbow.

Yellow was always yours to always keep,

The shade for a girl I once loved to see.

Yellow, the brightest of my many colors,

But not near bright enough to gift a cure.

Green is for life's grassy meadows,

On which you showed me every road,

Green is for a true promise for our safety,

But what I forged broke in a heartbeat.

What I would give to turn, turn back these frozen clocks,

And run far away, to yearn for something we have lost.

I can remember moments like you wouldn't know

It was before I stole all the colors of the rainbow.

Blue is for the past midsummer sky,

The last time I knew that we were alright

Blue is the together we could've created,

But now good loyalty is buried and wasted.

Indigo is the paint stuck on your walls,

The very stones that had started to fall,

Indigo is the bricks you have retrieved,

Placed one by one to make complete.

What I would give to turn, turn back these frozen clocks,

And run far away, to yearn for something we have lost.

I can remember moments like you wouldn't know

It was before I stole all the colors of the rainbow.

You wouldn't know

I stole all the colors of the rainbow.
