The first time we met,
you and I didn't know,
much about each other,
but that didn't stop us.

Now we know,
each other well,
and I'm too scared,
to even ask.

So I wait,
and hope,
and dream,
that you,
will give me some sign.

But you may be thinking,
the same thing.

So here we are,
either in a stalemate,
or a one-sided fantasy.

I don't know which,
would hurt more,
being rejected,
or never knowing.

At night,
we can't say enough,
but during the day,
we lose our voice.

I stopped dreaming,
long ago.
But now,
I'm beginning,
to wonder,
if this is some fever dream.

I want to ask,
but I can't lose you,

I just can't

I'm not good enough
