Jul 2015
the bones in my legs
have turned to jello
and both my kneecaps
are shaking
like the hands
of people
who have only
just met
for the first time

my palms are drenched in salty water
that seeps through my
skin when I'm nervous
or hot
and when you're involved,
I am both of those things

my lips quiver in anticipation
my arms tremble from
this heat we've created

I'm just going to close
my eyes tightly
and hope that when
I do,
your lips will
press against mine
about the first kiss shared between my love and myself.
