I look up in the sky,

White fluff moves slowly by.

When I stare hard enough,

I know its weird - go on, laugh.

But I feel like I'm light and moving,

And there's no way in proving.

I look again and imagine,

And imagine and imagine.

My mind starts to wonder.

And also to wander.

I wonder what clouds taste like,

Water vapour to dislike.

More like cotton candy,

Tasting nice and dandy.

I imagine jumping on the stuff,

Eating slowly fluff by fluff.

But I can't reach that high,

And I wish that I could fly.

The impossible happens then,

And the impossible is when,

From my shoulder blades sprouts wings,

Fragile, delicate, lovely things.

They spread out behind me,

And I feel forever free.

I flap them,

I fold them,

Try them out for the first time.

I look to the sky, shiny as a dime.

I take a breath deep,

And a brave leap.

I struggle first and almost fall,

It was definitely a close call.

But I managed to untangle,

And fly first at an awkward angle.

After that I twist and turn,

And the sun's rays make my eyes burn.

Soon I'm flying to the crowds

Of the ever fluffy clouds.
