I just wanted you to show up
You just wanted a show
You just wanted me to grow up
I just wanted to grow
Except this time you see
Desire hanging from the tree
And this time I see
Fear twirled around my knees
And you always remember
The ones who succeed
And I always recall
The ones falling free
Guess you’re lounging by the hub
And I’m swinging on the rim
You need to be immersed in it all
I need to learn to swim
You surround yourself with glamour
While I play in thunderstorms
You attack my ugly wounds
But your beauty sure has thorns
Now I just want a show
And you just want to grow up
For I am you and you are me,
Wedded to each other’s calamity,
Until this big world blows up
