I’m shooting up
And it’s another year
See I don’t have
No more time to spare
I need to change
My present atmosphere
And find a way
To get outta here

I’m no longer shooting
For the high
I’m tryin to stay well
Is my alibi
If I keep shooting up
I’m gonna die
And ******
Will be the reason why

Thought I could quit
If I tried perhaps
I did alright
Before my last relapse
People places things
All of the usual traps
I rolled a seven
Before I rolled craps

I’m no longer shooting
For the high
I’m tryin to stay well
Is my alibi
If I keep shooting up
I’m gonna die
And ******
Will be the reason why

They call it getting high
But it takes you low
The question is
How low will you go
Which you can’t answer
Because you don’t know
Long as you’re craving
That same afterglow

Every day I’m tryin’
To cop more
******’s a drug
That has a certain lore
So you have to
Shoot more than you did before
To keep those cramps
From knocking at your door

I’m no longer shooting
For the high
I’m tryin to stay well
Is my alibi
If I keep shooting up
I’m gonna die
And ******
Will be the reason why
If I keep shooting up
I’m gonna die
And ******
Will be the reason why
