Noticing from afar,
hands being held,
Small glances made,
Imagining how it feels to be that way.

Witnessing the first kiss happen,
Watching as he gets on one knee,
Hoping that's what my love we be.

Alas, I only watch,
For no one looks at the quiet girls,
Like they're the only star in the sky,
The apple of their eye,
The northern lights in their life.

But I can only dream,
I can only wait,
I can only hope,
That the love I will have is true.
