Take away my sorrow
and I'll take away your greed
Give me your tomorrow
and I'll give you what you need
Love is ours to borrow
We only grow as our hearts bleed
Give me back my sorrow
And I will plant the seed

Here this seed will lie
And it will grow into a tree
The water from the sky
as well as the water from me
will make it grow so high
just as high as it could be
And when it reaches the sky
the whole world we then can see

This seed holds our whole story
It stores it all inside its core
And it keeps growing up for me
as my tears fall more and more
My brain and heart never agree
and it's so exhausting keeping score
I just want to rest peacefully
But I just can't sleep anymore

My seed, it's growing taller
Turning soon into a tree
Making me feel much smaller
than I ever thought I'd be
And if I had a dollar
for every tear run free
I'd compose songs like Mahler
If it meant you'd still love me

I watch my seed shoot up until I can't see the top
And I want to climb right up, but the growing just won't stop
And I'm scared when I look down and I see the distant drop
I see you on the ground and wish our places could swap
But I keep on climbing higher so that I may sit atop
And see the world around me from my magic, giant crop
