No matter
how much
I open
my arms wide;
you're not inside.

I cannot hold
you again,
cannot feel
the hold of you,
no matter
what I imagine
or believe, or do.

Cannot weigh
the sadness
or explain
how I grieve.

I think on
the you,
the you
that used to be,
the younger,
older, son,
child, man,
you,
I cannot see.
A FATHER TALKS TO HIS DEAD SON.
