I guess it's time to move on.
Because this is that
and that is this.
Without words, there's a shift.
Our disposition sways.

The sentiments and gestures
it all festers
in the small space between us
because it just doesn't
have anywhere else to go.

No matter how busy I make myself,
it's still there.
Pounding on the cage
in the back of my mind.

I never wanted to let slip
the anguish
which was breathing through my pores.
But it's there.
Emanating around me.
In the small space between us.

For a few years now
I have awaken to the sound
Of my Mom's walker
As she moves around

It rattles a bit
Every time it strikes the floor
Then silence as she pauses
Before moving a little more

Of all the greatest singers
Musicians, classic composers and such
None have ever made anything
I love to hear as much

For I know the day will come
I'll not hear that sound
When she is gone
Never again in this life to ever be found

Though I dread that day
It keeps fresh in my mind
To always let her know I love her
And spend with her all the time I can find

And though that walker's a reminder of her
We all have people in our life
We need to always appreciate
Be it friends, family, husband or wife

For we just never know
When we'll speak to them last
And they will no longer be here
But only live in our past

So take every chance you get
To let folks know that you care
So you don't live in regret
When they are no longer there.

under a well-
   contented sky of blue lashes
dreamy
I felt so fortunate, so, full
   to be granted the
opportunity
to behold the beauty of all this
virtue,
so,
I felt a Goddess, had thought of me
reserved,
this place for me, to see,
so,
I bowed down,
and gave thanks,
clapped
earnestly,
cried
reproducing the
roar of thunder.
I cry out
un- ending
Joy.

Let's play pretend.
Let's pretend we don't know each other.
Let's pretend we were never lovers.
Let's start over.
You can teach me how to sing.
I can teach you how to dance.
You can teach me to play piano.
I can teach you how to love.
Let's start over.
Let's drink.
Let's drink to the good times, to the bad.
Let's get ****** up together and not remember how it ends.
Let's be young, wild, and free.
Let's start over.
Now let's remember.
Let's remember the past.
Let's remember how we used to be.
Let's remember all the fun we had when we pretended.

SPRING

Cold air freezes my soul
Rain drops are drumming
A sandy odor fills my breath
Leaving an imprint till my death

Silence fills the room
Voices swept from my home
Keeping me safe for no more cries
Laughing hard for all those lies

Sober or bored
I toss the curse to the edge
As strong as I am at my age
No illusions like mirage

I still stand still
Through all the tragedy
Storms behind my wall
Still freezes my soul

i'm telling you.
the clouds were meant for the ground.
but they hung themselves.

follow me

to a place

no one bothers to go

follow me

into the depths of imagination

where anything can happen

anytime you want

take me

through your streams of consciousness

I want to know

every part of you

take me

where no one bothers to go

The silence of the night
piercing my ears
The clock ticking past midnight
Its ticking ringing in my ears.

The palm trees swaying in the wind
cast dancing shadows on my window pane,
The crickets' relentless chirping
Persistent, and mundane.

The moon playing peek-a-boo amidst clouds,
In the dimly lit sky bereft of stars,
A barking mongrel every now and then
And the occasional hooting of passing cars.

Suddenly, and yet not sudden
The dawn breaks, birds chirp to usher a new day
Trucks and cars and buses plying the streets
Completely engulfing the silence of the previous night away.
